Motor Run Capacitors for Ceiling Fans
Ceiling fans and blowers use small run capacitors, usually a few microfarads, to start the motor and keep it turning smoothly. Our SH 2000VAC oval capacitors come in exactly those small values: 2µF, 3µF, 4µF and 5µF.
Sales@CapacitorGlobal.comHow the capacitor is used
A ceiling fan motor needs a capacitor to create the phase shift that starts it and keeps it running. In many fans the capacitor value also sets the speed steps. A failing fan capacitor typically shows up as a fan that hums but will not start, or runs slower than it should. The compact oval case fits inside the small switch housing of a fan.
Specs to give us
- Capacitance (µF): 2, 3, 4 or 5
- Rated voltage (VAC)
- Lead wires or terminals
- Case size to fit the fan housing
- Quantity of each value
The fastest way to get a quote: send a photo of the label on the capacitor you use now, plus the quantity. Not sure what to specify? Read the capacitor replacement guide.
